Avui us convidem a llegir aquest opuscle que va ser portat a la impremta el 1926, amb el t\u00edtol original de <i>Lettre sur les bibliophiles.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"tab-stops:24.25pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\"><span lang=\"CA\" style=\"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">La vida intel\u00b7lectual de Georges Duhamel no nom\u00e9s \u00e9s molt rica, sin\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 molt apassionada. L\u2019autor del pr\u00f2leg d\u2019aquesta edici\u00f3 de Trama Editorial, Jos\u00e9 Luis Checa Cremades, insisteix sobre l\u2019aspecte polifac\u00e8tic de Georges Duhamel, membre de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie fran\u00e7aise des del 1936, un autor implicat a resoldre el misteri de l\u2019exist\u00e8ncia i convertir la vida humana en un projecte apassionat.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"tab-stops:24.25pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\"><span lang=\"CA\" style=\"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">L\u2019atracci\u00f3 pel coneixement de Duhamel \u00e9s immensa; tampoc no ent\u00e9n viure sense la lectura, que converteix, segons ell, un dia de treball en un dia de vida. Duhamel sent tamb\u00e9 una fascinaci\u00f3 per l\u2019objecte llibre, una mica en la direcci\u00f3 proposada pel Paul Val\u00e9ry que parlava de \u00abla f\u00edsica del llibre\u00bb. Els llibres, uns objectes-monuments, patrimoni de la humanitat.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"tab-stops:24.25pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\"><span lang=\"CA\" style=\"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Malgrat aquest amor sabut que Duhamel tenia envers els llibres, quan es public\u00e0 per primer cop la <i>Carta sobre los bibli\u00f3filos <\/i>va \u00e9sser <a href=\"https:\/\/gallica.bnf.fr\/ark:\/12148\/bpt6k1525699p\/f550.item\" rel=\"noopener\" style=\"color:#0563c1; text-decoration:underline\" target=\"_blank\">molt criticada en un article<\/a> del <i>Bulletin du bibliophile<\/i>, publicaci\u00f3 c\u00e8lebre parisenca sobre bibliof\u00edlia. Potser all\u00f2 que no agrada als bibli\u00f2fils que dirigeixen la revista \u00e9s veure\u2019s retratats amb una ironia sarc\u00e0stica mitjan\u00e7ant la caricatura d\u2019un personatge bibli\u00f2fil l\u00fagubre, obsessionat patol\u00f2gicament pel que fa.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"tab-stops:24.25pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\"><span lang=\"CA\" style=\"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Per\u00f2 s\u2019ha d\u2019anar m\u00e9s lluny, aparcar les susceptibilitats i llegir la totalitat dels escrits de Duhamel per saber que el personatge d\u2019aquesta <i>Carta<\/i>, el senyor Courtin, recorda altres personatges de l\u2019obra de Duhamel. Pensem per exemple en el senyor Louis Salavin, protagonista de <i>Confession de minuit,<\/i> petit administratiu amb una vida rutin\u00e0ria avorrida, interrompuda bruscament per un desig de tocar l\u2019orella del seu amo; personatges banals extrapolats d\u2019una realitat silenciosa amb una voluntat ferotge de modificar els seus destins. Louis Salavin, com el senyor Courtin, b\u00e9 recorden els antiherois immersos en un di\u00e0leg profund amb ells mateixos, oscil\u00b7lant entre desesperaci\u00f3 i obsessi\u00f3 per un mateix. Una mirada distorsionada sobre les coses, una veu interioritzada, desencantada i inconscientment innovadora.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"tab-stops:24.25pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\"><span lang=\"CA\" style=\"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Amb ells, Duhamel ens vol convidar a entendre l\u2019eternitat de la vida humana, una dimensi\u00f3 de la qual parlava en el seu discurs davant de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie fran\u00e7aise: <\/span><span lang=\"CA\" style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">\u00ab[\u2026] dans cette \u00e9ternit\u00e9 de l\u2019homme dont nous savons qu\u2019elle est infirme et incompl\u00e8te, mais qu\u2019elle est quand m\u00eame notre refuge contre l\u2019ignorance et le n\u00e9ant.\u00bb<a href=\"#_edn1\" name=\"_ednref1\" style=\"color:#0563c1; text-decoration:underline\" title=\"\"><span class=\"MsoEndnoteReference\" style=\"vertical-align:super\"><span class=\"MsoEndnoteReference\" style=\"vertical-align:super\"><span lang=\"CA\" style=\"font-size:12.0pt\"><span style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">[1]<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"tab-stops:24.25pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\"><span lang=\"CA\" style=\"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">El senyor Courtin \u00e9s el personatge principal de la <i>Carta sobre los bibli\u00f3filos. <\/i>\u00c9s un <i>amateur<\/i> dels llibres, per a qui els llibres s\u00f3n font de transcend\u00e8ncia; per ell s\u00f3n com membres de la seva fam\u00edlia, viuen i parlen amb ell, com diu en el llibre, \u00abme desbordan, me asfixian\u00bb, aquesta personificaci\u00f3 dels llibres \u00e9s constant al llarg de la novel\u00b7la, els llibres, aquests \u00e9ssers que conviden el bibli\u00f2fil a tastar una nova sensualitat \u00abdesenfrenos bibli\u00f3filos, j\u00f3venes conquistas, apretando contra el pecho un peque\u00f1o dieciseisavo\u00bb.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"tab-stops:24.25pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\"><span lang=\"CA\" style=\"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">L\u2019amor pels llibres d\u2019aquest personatge neix sobtadament amb la compra d\u2019un exemplar de Guillaume des Autels <i>Amoureux repos,<\/i> de 1553, de la impremta Jean Temporal de Li\u00f3. Raresa insigne, trobada en el <a href=\"https:\/\/gallica.bnf.fr\/ark:\/12148\/bpt6k2093486\/f310.item\" rel=\"noopener\" style=\"color:#0563c1; text-decoration:underline\" target=\"_blank\">Brunet<\/a> (1780-1867),<a href=\"#_edn2\" name=\"_ednref2\" style=\"color:#0563c1; text-decoration:underline\" title=\"\"><span class=\"MsoEndnoteReference\" style=\"vertical-align:super\"><span class=\"MsoEndnoteReference\" style=\"vertical-align:super\"><span lang=\"CA\" style=\"font-size:12.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">[2]<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> un primer gran amor, dels que et fan plorar tota la vida.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"tab-stops:24.25pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\"><span lang=\"CA\" style=\"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Per\u00f2 l\u2019amor allunya del m\u00f3n. El que tamb\u00e9 \u00e9s molt interessant d\u2019aquest personatge \u00e9s el seu a\u00efllament, la seva desconnexi\u00f3 amb el m\u00f3n exterior, una ruptura amb la societat sencera implicant inevitablement una degradaci\u00f3 f\u00edsica, perdent l\u2019aspecte saludable, amb els llavis i les galtes que tremolen sols, deshumanitzats per sempre m\u00e9s. Duhamel t\u00e9 una aptitud \u00fanica en la descripci\u00f3 d\u2019uns \u00e9ssers humans devastats moralment i f\u00edsicament, en lluita amb ells mateixos. El senyor Courtin perd la guerra contra una passi\u00f3 que ell sap destructora, per\u00f2 que li aporta un plaer tan incommensurable que no li \u00e9s possible renunciar-hi.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"tab-stops:24.25pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\"><span lang=\"CA\" style=\"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Gelosies amb altres bibli\u00f2fils, el duc Bois Badin, bibli\u00f2fil sense talent per\u00f2 amb diners per adquirir grans exemplars, agressivitat, paranoia, esgotament extrem i desgast generalitzat. En definitiva, \u00e9s el retrat d\u2019una bogeria que neix del fet de col\u00b7leccionar, rastrejar constantment el m\u00f3n a la recerca de llibres, catalogats amb estricta ordenaci\u00f3 i clarificaci\u00f3 met\u00f2diques, redactant el que s\u2019anomena un cat\u00e0leg raonat, per\u00f2 tamb\u00e9 desenvolupant obsessions que van m\u00e9s enll\u00e0 de la ra\u00f3. El senyor Courtin mant\u00e9, per exemple, una passi\u00f3-rebuig pels poetes moderns, <i>les po\u00e8tes modernes<\/i>, Verlaine, Mallarm\u00e9, Rimbaud, <i>les po\u00e8tes maudits<\/i>, rebels, impossibles d\u2019ensinistrar com unes b\u00e8sties salvatges, incatalogables i que es resisteixen a la classificaci\u00f3. El senyor Courtin finalment revela als seus hostes que el venen a visitar, un llibre-museu, un petit cofre que cont\u00e9 tot Baudelaire, no nom\u00e9s la seva obra liter\u00e0ria, sin\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 objectes de la seva vida, cartes, ungles, cabells, records que permeten que Courtin mantingui viva la flama de l\u2019exist\u00e8ncia irrepetible de Baudelaire.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"tab-stops:24.25pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\"><span lang=\"CA\" style=\"font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Qu\u00e8 \u00e9s el que vol Duhamel? Vol descriure un model arquet\u00edpic de bibli\u00f2fil, o al contrari, un antibibli\u00f2fil, un boig, un psic\u00f2pata, un antisistema?
