a toolkit for gender equality in policymaking.
It is a new study promoted by UNESCO, prepared by Anna Villarroya
director of the CRICC, and Berta Ollé, graduated in Information and Documentation from the
Faculty of Information and Audiovisual Media of the UB.
This work consists of a practical guide designed to assist governments,
institutions and cultural agents to transform their commitments into policies
effective.
The Toolkit offers step-by-step guidance to integrate the gender perspective into all
the phases of cultural policies. At the same time, it acts as an awareness tool and
training for institutions, professionals and organizations working for the rights of
the women. The paper stresses that incorporating gender is not just an obligation
in terms of human rights, but also an opportunity to strengthen the role
transforming culture into sustainable development.
In addition, it provides concrete tools, inspiring examples and recommendations for
face persistent challenges such as the wage gap, the underrepresentation of women in
leadership positions or specific forms of online violence and harassment that
they affect professionals in the sector.
