Research

Currently, I am the coordinator of a line of research on the implementation of Semantic Web technologies (RDF, RDF Schema, SKOS and OWL) in digital collections in libraries, archives and museums in Catalonia and the rest of Spain.

Our goals are:

1. To study the advantages and disadvantages of applying Semantic Web technologies to digital collections of libraries, archives and museums.
2. To analyze the implementation of RDF, RDF Schema, SKOS and OWL in digital collections of Spanish and Catalan libraries, archives and museums.
3. To apply these Semantic Web technologies in a specific digital collection in order to evaluate the real advantages and disadvantages of their application.
4. To produce recommendations for applying apply Semantic Web technologies in digital collections in an effective way.
